EXECUTIVE CHANGES: Elementis and essensys CEOs; Genus hires from S&N

13th Mar 2025 15:08

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Elementis PLC - London-based specialty chemicals - Promotes Luc van Ravenstein to chief executive officer, succeeding Paul Waterman, who Elementis said back in November will retire at the end of April. Van Ravenstein joined Elementis 13 years ago, having worked previously at peer Croda International PLC. He currently leads Performance Specialties, the largest business division of Elementis.

----------

essensys PLC - London-based provider of software and cloud services for flexible workspace industry - Promotes Chief Operating Officer James Lowery to CEO, succeeding the company's founder, Mark Furness, on May 1. Lowery has been COO since March last year, having joined essensys in 2022 as CEO of UK & Europe. Prior to essensys, Lowery co-founded Storey, a flexible office brand of British Land Co PLC. Furness, who founded essensys in 2006, will remain with the company as a non-independent non-executive director. essensys also on Thursday issues half-year results, saying its pretax loss narrows to GBP1.8 million in the six months that ended in January from GBP2.8 million a year before, despite revenue falling by 11% to GBP10.4 million from GBP11.7 million. The company swings to positive adjusted earnings before interest tax, depreciation and amortisation of GBP800,000 from a GBP500,000 such loss a year before. essensys says the lower revenue is due to the downsizing a large strategic customer. It expects Ebitda in the second half of the year to be similar to the first half.

----------

Genus PLC - Basingstoke, England-based animal biotechnology and genetics company - Hires Andy Russell to be chief financial officer, joining Genus on August 1 and replacing Alison Henriksen, who has been in post for five years. Russell will join from medical device manufacturer Smith & Nephew PLC, where he is senior vice president for Group Finance & M&A and deputy to the CFO.

----------

Henry Boot PLC - Sheffield, England-based property development, home building and construction - Hires Earl Sibley as non-executive director, starting April 1. Sibley was COO of housebuilder Vistry Group PLC, leaving at the end of last year. Prior to Vistry, Sibley worked at Barratt Developments PLC, now Barratt Redrow PLC.

----------

Quadrise PLC - London-based supplier of emulsion technology, fuels and biofuels for the power generation, shipping and industrial sectors - Hires Linda Sorensen to be head of its Marine business. Quadrise says Sorensen has "extensive experience" in the oil, gas, maritime, and transport sectors, having worked at maritime firm BW Group and at advisory Lloyd's Register.
