LONDON (Alliance News) - London Stock Exchange Group PLC Friday said former European Parliament member Sharon Bowles has joined the board of the exchange operator as a non-executive director.
Bowles was a member of the European Parliament between 2005 and 2014, serving on the Economic and Monetary Affairs and Legal Affairs Committees. She was the chair of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee from 2009 to 2014, leading efforts to cap bankers' bonuses while in the position.
Last week, Bowles was linked with a possible advisory role with Standard Chartered PLC. Sky News reported Bowles had been approached about a role that would involve advising the bank on regulatory affairs.
London Stock Exchange shares were up 0.1% to 1,936 pence on Friday.
