Ex-Genus Boss Wood To Chair ECO Animal Health As Founder Departs

7th Mar 2019 11:47

LONDON (Alliance News) - ECO Animal Health Group PLC announced Thursday Founder & Non-Executive Chair Peter Lawrence will be leaving after almost 50 years.

Lawrence, who founded ECO Animal Health in 1972, has departed with immediate effect.

Stepping up will be Richard Wood, who has "considerable" experience in the global animal health sector, ECO Animal Health said.

Wood is a former chief executive of FTSE 250 biotechnology firm Genus PLC, having led the firm for 14 years until 2011.

Chief Executive Marc Loomes said: "On behalf of the board I would like to sincerely thank Peter for his enormous contribution to the growth and development of the company during his time with the business.

"We are delighted Richard has agreed to take over the role of chair, as he brings significant sector and City experience to the board. This experience will help support the expansion plans of ECO Animal Health, including investment in product development programmes and the broadening of our portfolio offer and new geographical presence."

Eco shares were untraded Thursday, last quoted at 460 pence each.
