Europa Oil & Gas Submits Planning Application Regarding Oil Licence

LONDON (Alliance News) - Europa Oil & Gas PLC has submitted a planning application concerning one of its licences, both Union Jack Oil PLC and Egdon Resources PLC noted on Tuesday.

The PEDL 143 licence covers the Holmwood oil prospect in Surrey, UK. It is operated by Europa and both Union Jack and Egdon hold an interest. Union Jack's interest in the licence is 7.5% while Egdon's is 18.4%.

Europa has submitted an application to Surrey County Council asking the council to extend the temporary permission period for Europa's well site by another three years and to remove a condition which requires Europa to include an identified heavy goods vehicle holding area.

Concurrently, Europa made two other associated planning applications for an underground drilling corridor and a temporary security fence around the well site.

The UK Oil & Gas Authority has already extended the PEDL 143 licence until September 2020.

Europa's interest in the licence is 20%. Argus Energy PLC holds a 12.5% interest; UK Oil & Gas Investments PLC holds a 40% interest; and Altwood Petroleum holds a 1.6% interest.

Shares in Union Jack Oil were untraded at 0.09 pence on Tuesday.

Shares in Egdon were up 1.5% at 9.90p.

Europa's shares were down 2.4% at 4.05p.
