(Alliance News) - Europa Metals Ltd on Monday said it has been able to continue "low cost work" in Spain but has suspended all international travel due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
At its Toral lead, zinc and silver project, key work is continuing with the company's Europa Iberia SL subsidiary frequently reporting to Spanish health authorities.
Executive Director Laurence Read said: "The spread of coronavirus is a significant health incident and our priority is to ensure the safety of all of our workforce and their families by fully complying with the guidance and instructions issued by all relevant health authorities, but in particular that of the regional and federal governments of Spain.
"Europa Metals has been fortunate in completing its first 2020 field season prior to the coronavirus significant escalation in Europe. Accordingly, we shall be continuing with our metallurgical and flow sheet work as planned and intend to make an announcement shortly on this work. We are, however, prudently reviewing and amending budgets to take into account the current adverse economic impact of Covid-19 on global financial markets."
In London on Monday morning, Europa Metals shares were 13% lower at 0.014 pence each. In Johannesburg shortly after midday, the stock was flat at ZAR0.01.
