(Alliance News) - Europa Metals Ltd said Thursday the first hole at the Toral multi-commodity project in Spain returned "visible" mineralisation.
The hole was drilled to a depth of 302 metres, and returned sulphide mineralisation which will now be sent for assay.
The next drill hole was begun immediately after with the same drill pad, with most holes on the drilling programme to use the same pad.
Europa's drilling programme is targeting an area to the west of the existing resource at the zinc, lead, and silver mine.
Elsewhere, metallurgical testing of samples from previous work at Toral has been completed, and the company is now awaiting results before the end of 2019.
Europa shares were 5.1% lower in London on Thursday at a price of 0.028 pence each, with Johannesburg shares untraded, last seen at ZAR1.00.
