LONDON (Alliance News) - Escher Group Holdings PLC on Friday said its Non-Executive Chairman Bernard Somers has stood down from the board, and will be replaced by Nick Winks, as it looks to address "new strategic opportunities outside of our traditional core postal business".
The software provider for the postal industry said Somers was leaving the board after nine years as Escher's non-executive chairman.
Escher said Nick Winks and Stephen McLeod will join the board shortly as non-executive directors, and will become non-executive chairman and senior independent director respectively.
Escher said it continues to make progress towards the appointment of a new finance director.
"These new appointments will bring experience and expertise as we address new strategic opportunities outside of our traditional core postal business," said Chief Executive Liam Church.
"Nick has been responsible for developing and creating value in a number of corporate situations over the last 20 years or so. He has previously been a non-executive director of several quoted companies, including Claimar Care PLC and Private & Commercial Finance Group PLC," Church added.
"Stephen has worked for a number of strategy consultants and has held senior posts with major multinationals. He was chief executive of Universe Group PLC, supplying point of sale and customer loyalty products to the petrol service station sector," Church added.
Shares in Escher were up 7.3% at 179.75 pence on Friday afternoon.
