Erris Resources Drilling At Abbeytown Shows Mineralisation Extension

25th Feb 2019 15:35

LONDON (Alliance News) - Erris Resources PLC on Monday said that drilling at its Abbeytown zinc-lead-silver-copper project in north-west Ireland showed extended mineralisation.

Underground and surface drilling at the Abbeytown project carried out in the fourth quarter of 2018 demonstrated that mineralisation extends 375 metres south from the old underground workings, the company said.

Among the highlights, Erris discovered 10.85% zinc and lead combined and 31.1 grams per tonne of silver over 4.0 metres.

Furthermore, Erris confirmed that a soil sampling programme completed this months showed that the mineralisation has the potential to extend 900 metres to the Ox Mountains fault south of Abbeytown.

Chief Executive Officer Anton du Plessis said: "2019 has started well, with activity on a number of our projects. At Abbeytown, work has focussed on identifying new targets further south of the mine site towards the Ox mountain fault approximately 1.2 kilometres away."

He added: "The team has been running a soil sampling programme with the aim of upgrading geophysical targets. This is looking promising and could increase the overall potential of the project."

Furthermore, the company said that its partner Centerra Gold KB Inc has started the review of several targets in Finland. While Erris is also reviewing targets in Sweden.

Erris Resources shares were trading up 4.4% at 5.87 pence each.
