Equipmake and Genco continue talks following latest purchase order

20th Sep 2024 10:42

(Alliance News) - Equipmake Holdings PLC on Friday said it has received orders for drivetrains from Genco Energy Holdings Pty Ltd.

The Norfolk, England-based company is an electrification solutions developer for the automotive, aerospace, marine, construction, and bus markets.

Genco has placed an order for four Zero Emission Drivetrains which will be used by its alliance company, the New Zealand coach builder Kiwi Bus Builder Ltd, to build and trial electric buses with the first two ZEDs scheduled for delivery in February 2025.

Equipmake's ZED is a fully integrated system, including motors, control systems, inverters, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and battery packs.

Maiden orders for ZEDs were secured in August with the South American bus manufacturer Agrale SA placing an initial order for five.

"Genco and Equipmake are in ongoing discussions with a view to agreeing a commercial agreement to provide further ZED systems over the period to 31 December 2027. There can be no certainty at this time that such discussions will result in a further commercial agreement and the company would make a further announcement should any such agreement be entered into," Equipmake commented.

Equipmake shares on the Aquis Exchange were untraded at 3.00 pence each on Friday morning.
