Equatorial Palm Oil Begins First Palm Oil Shipment From Liberia

18th Sep 2019 14:46

(Alliance News) - Equatorial Palm Oil PLC on Wednesday said the first export shipment of crude palm oil has been made from the port of Buchanan in Liberia.

The firm in August had said a customer placed an order for 2,700 metric tonnes of crude palm oil, which is now on its way to Douala in Cameroon.

Equatorial Palm Oil has two palm oil estates, both on the coast of Liberia: Palm Bay and Butaw. Palm Bay is not far from the port of Buchanan, which is down the coast from the capital of Monrovia.

Shares more than doubled in value on Wednesday, reaching 1.66 pence each, having started the day off at 0.80p.
