(Alliance News) - Payment services provider Equals Group PLC on Wednesday said it has hired Alan Hughes as a non-executive director, effective from March 1.
Hughes is currently non-executive chair of Unity Trust Bank PLC and deputy chair of personal finance company Hitachi Capital UK PLC. He was previously chief executive of challenger bank First Direct and chair of lending platform Retail Money Market Ltd. He was also previously non-executive director of credit card issuer New Day Group Ltd.
"We are delighted that Alan is joining the group as he brings not only a wealth of industry expertise but also extensive experience as a successful director of fintech businesses. As Equals continues its growth trajectory, Alan's guidance as non-executive director will be invaluable," said Non-Executive Chair Jon Pearson.
Shares in Equals Group were down 3.5% at 41.75 pence each on Wednesday afternoon in London.
