(Alliance News) - EQTEC PLC on Thursday said it has completed its first maintenance contract with Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, the public transport operator in Spain, generating revenue of EUR155,000.
EQTEC said it will retain the preventive maintenance contract until May 2020.
As part of its wider commercial strategy, EQTEC said it has been "actively" seeking to employ its engineering capacity, experience and credentials in co-generation applications to bid for maintenance contracts. This strategy allows the AIM-listed waste-to-energy project developer to generate revenue from operations and maintenance services, it said, whilst its waste elimination and energy recovery technologies are being developed and constructed.
"We believe our commitment to technology, innovation and customer support is second to none in the sector. The capabilities of our engineering team are ideally suited to securing maintenance contracts with blue chip counterparties such as Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona and we will continue to reinforce this to the market," said Chief technology Officer Yoel Aleman.
EQTEC shares were trading 5.6% higher in London on Thursday at 0.19 pence each.
