Entertainment One To Meet Full Year Expectations

26th Mar 2014 09:13

LONDON (Alliance News) - Entertainment One Ltd said Wednesday that its results for the full year ending March 31 will meet expectations, and it will post revenues and underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation ahead of the previous year.

Entertainment One said it expects to see higher revenues than the previous year due to its acquisition of Alliance Film Holdings Inc in January 2013, and underlying growth in its Television division.

The film and television programme distribution company said it had released 278 films and expects to deliver over 300 half hours of television content in the current year. Film revenues were driven by an increased number of box office releases including 'Now You See Me', 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire', and 'American Hustle'.

In Television the company worked on the second season of 'Saving Hope', season three of 'Hell on Wheels' and season four of 'Haven'. It also worked on new shows including 'Klondike' for the Discovery Channel and 'Bitten'.

Children's television programme 'Peppa Pig' continued to perform well in the UK and globally, Entertainment One said, and saw increased US television presence in March.

Its investment in content and products is expected to increase to over GBP260 million, up from GBP215 million in the previous year.

Entertainment One will post its full-year results May 20.

Shares in Entertainment One were trading up 1.2% at 338.70 pence Wednesday.
