LONDON (Alliance News) - Entertainment One Ltd said Thursday it has created a new partnership, forming a new film, television and digital content creation company, Amblin Partners, in association with Steven Speilberg and others.
The partnership extends its output agreement with DreamWorks pictures. Along with Spielberg will be Jeff Skoll and Anil Ambani.
Under the agreement Entertainment One will directly distribute Amblin Partner's films, and it will hold a small equity stake in Amblin Partners.
Film projects in production include 'The BFG' and 'The Girl on the Train', along with television programming including 'All the Way' and 'American Gothic'.
"We are delighted to join Steven Spielberg, Jeff Skoll and Reliance in launching this unique new venture," said Entertainment One Chief Executive Officer and President Darren Throop in a statement.
"As part of eOne's stated growth strategy to double the size of the business by 2020, we continually strive to partner with producers of the highest quality content and Amblin Partners certainly represents the gold standard. This long term partnership builds on the successful output relationship between eOne and DreamWorks, whilst extending the relationship through additional territories, licensing and merchandising and television production and distribution," Throop added.
