Empiric Student Property Buys Leeds Accommodation For GBP7.1 Million

30th Mar 2015 09:04

LONDON (Alliance News) - Empiric Student Property PLC on Monday said it has acquired the freehold for an existing direct-let student accommodation site in Leeds for GBP7.1 million.

Empiric said St Mark's Court has 85 large self-contained studios and has been fully let since it started operations in the 2009/10 academic year.

"St Mark's Court is Empiric's second acquisition in Leeds, one of the top Russell Group university cities. In addition to the two large universities, Leeds is home to several smaller institutions such as Leeds Trinity, Leeds College of Music and the Leeds campus of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama and is, therefore, a city where we intend to increase our presence," said Empiric Chief Executive Paul Hadaway.

Shares in Empiric were up 0.2% to 103.23 pence on Monday.
