Empire Metals Begins Work Programme At Eclipse Gold Project

4th Sep 2020 10:50

(Alliance News) - Empire Metals Ltd on Friday said it has commenced a phased work programme at its Eclipse gold mining licence, located 55 kilometres north-east of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.

The exploration and development firm stated the programme has started with a systematic soil sampling and geochemistry, adding that it has planned 490 samples over the north-eastern and south-western areas of the licence.

Empire said the soil sampling represents the first phase of the work programme which will also include ground magnetic survey and a sub audio magnetic survey, structural geological interpretation and mapping, and reverse circulation drilling.

Soils and geochemistry results are expected by the end of September.

"We're very pleased to have started our fieldwork at Eclipse. Historical production records from the project were well-preserved, and together with recent geophysics and drilling we already have robust understanding of the gold mineralisation and the potential for significant high-grade gold resource development. With this in mind, we have high expectations for the results over the coming weeks and months during our option period," said Chief Executive Mike Struthers.

Empire Metals added it is working to test potential mineralisation at two additional targets north-west of Eclipse, which are the Houdini and Easy prospects.

The stock was trading 6.9% higher at 2.78 pence each on Friday morning in London.
