Emmerson Kicks Off Metallurgical Testwork At Khemisset Project

1st Apr 2019 13:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Potash miner Emmerson PLC on Monday said it has begun metallurgical testwork at the Khemisset project in Morocco.

Testwork will include analysing brine phase chemistry, the oxidation rates of various salts, decomposition rates of different sized ores, liberation analysis, and magnetic separation.

Emmerson hopes to complete the work by the end of June, with the results to go towards completing a feasibility study for Khemisset.

Chief Executive Hayden Locke commented: "The commencement of metallurgical testing is another important de-risking step towards our goal of becoming a highly profitable potash producer.

"The results of the programme will be used to confirm, adjust and optimise the process flow sheet in the upcoming feasibility study."

"The results of the metallurgical testing will also form a key part the technical due diligence any debt or financial partners will perform when assessing the finance-ability of the project," Locke added.

Shares were 1.3% lower on Monday afternoon at 3.85 pence each.
