EMIS Group Profit Higher On Better Revenue, Boosted By Acquisitions

4th Sep 2015 06:33

LONDON (Alliance News) - Healthcare software and services company EMIS Group PLC on Friday posted higher interim pretax profit for 2015, driven by a robust rise in revenue in the first half thanks to the acquisitions it made in 2014.

EMIS said its pretax profit for the six months to the end of June was GBP13.6 million, up from GBP12.6 million a year earlier as its total revenue increased to GBP77.8 million from GBP66.4 million. The total revenue figure was boosted by a 21% rise in recurring revenue for the company, up to GBP60.5 million from GBP49.9 million.

The rise in profit prompted the group to hike its interim dividend to 10.6 pence per share, up 15% from the 9.2p it paid a year earlier.

EMIS said its financial performance in the half was in line with its expectations, with 8% of the revenue growth driven organically and the rest coming from acquisitions it made in 2014. It said its revenue visibility, order book and pipeline are all strong and said it maintained its market share in the primary care and community pharmacy market, while growing its presence in the community, children's and mental health sector.

The company said trading so far in the second half has been in line with its expectations and said it expects its earnings for the full year to be higher year-on-year thanks to the acquisitions it made in 2014.

"EMIS Group continues to trade well and in line with the board's expectations. As well as the group's strong organic revenue visibility, order book and pipelines, anticipated earnings enhancement continues to be delivered by the group's 2014 acquisitions," said Chris Spencer, EMIS's chief executive.
