LONDON (Alliance News) - EMIS Group PLC on Wednesday lifted its payout for 2018 following significant growth in profit amid a strong performance across all of its units.
The healthcare software provider said pretax profit almost tripled to GBP29.2 million in 2018 from GBP10.9 million reported a year earlier, as revenue rose 6.1% to GBP170.1 million from GBP160.4 million.
In the Primary, Community & Acute Care business, revenue grew in the year, reflecting an improved sales performance.
Performance in the Community Pharmacy division also was positive, with the roll-out of the new ProScript Connect product now approaching completion, the company said.
The Specialist & Care unit delivered double-digit revenue growth, with the full year benefit of new contracts implemented during 2017.
The Patient division continued to invest in developing its future business model focussed on the digital healthcare marketplace.
EMIS proposed a 10% increase in the final dividend to 14.2 pence from 12.9p paid a year before. For the full year, the payout also was upped by 10%, to 28.4p from 25.8p.
"The business performed well, with good revenue growth in the period and profit in line with market expectations, supported by growing revenue across all our key segments," said Chief Executive Andy Thorburn.
"We maintained our track record of high levels of recurring revenue, good cash generation and an increased dividend, and the group is well positioned for future growth," added Thorburn.
EMIS shares were untraded on Wednesday, last closing at 958.00p each.
