EMIS Acquires Indigo 4 Systems For Up To GBP3.7 Million

17th Jul 2014 11:06

LONDON (Alliance News) - EMIS Group PLC said Thursday that it had acquired Sheffield-based Indigo 4 Systems Ltd for up to GBP3.7 million in cash.

The company will pay an initial consideration of GBP3.2 million in cash from its own resources, with a further GBP500,000 payable on certain milestones.

EMIS expects the acquisition to add to earnings immediately. It will integrate Indigo into its Secondary and Specialist Care division.

Indigo provides clinical and administrative messaging and order communications services for healthcare businesses. EMIS said that the acquisition will help to further its strategy of providing connected healthcare systems.

Indigo posted an adjusted pretax profit of GBP700,000 on revenue of GBP2.5 million in the year to end-August 2013.

"This acquisition supports our strategy of providing connected healthcare systems and follows the successful acquisitions of Ascribe and Digital Healthcare," said Chief Executive Chris Spencer in a statement. "It provides even more scope for the Group's comprehensive integration of primary and secondary care using a tried and tested platform."

Shares in EMIS were trading up 3.3% at 700.00 pence Thursday morning.
