Emirates Looking To Modify Two Amedeo Air Four Plus Aircraft

19th Nov 2019 12:43

(Alliance News) - Amedeo Air Four Plus Ltd said Tuesday that Emirates, a lessee of six of the company's Airbus A380s, has requested permission to modify two of the aircraft it leases.

Emirates said the modification is a "beneficial brand enhancement", intended to further raise the levels of customer service, comfort and experience on its A380 fleet.

The Dubai-owned airline wants to expand the existing business class cabin and introduce a new premium economy class in the upper forward cabin.

The company's asset manager, Amedeo Ltd, has advised the company that it considers that these modifications have the "potential to improve the marketability of the aircraft". As such, the company has told Amedeo to amend the existing lease with Emirates to allow it to carry on with the modifications.

The change to the lease agreement is subject to Emirates' confirmation.

"All costs of the process will be borne by Emirates, and the modifications made are intended to remain part of the aircraft upon expiry of the lease agreements with Emirates. Emirates will be obliged to continue lease payments to the company during any downtime, and any modifications to the aircraft will be made in accordance with the relevant OEM manuals and will be approved by the relevant aviation regulation authorities," Amedeo Air Four Plus said.

Shares in Amedeo Air Four Plus were untraded in London on Tuesday but last closed at 80.50 pence each.
