LONDON (Alliance News) - Electrocomponents PLC said Friday former WPP PLC executive Bessie Lee will join the FTSE 250-listed engineering firm as a non-executive with immediate effect.
Lee is currently the chief executive of China-based venture capital firm Withinlink. Previously, she was CEO of China for FTSE 100-listed advertising firm WPP between 2013 and 2017.
This followed CEO roles in China at WPP units Mindshare and GroupM.
"We are all delighted Bessie will be joining the Electrocomponents board," Electrocomponents Chair Peter Johnson said.
"Bessie has had several significant management roles in China, one of our key strategic markets, including the CEO of China for WPP, the global media and advertising company," Johnson added.
"She will bring deep insight into the customer dynamics in China as well as helping increase the board's understanding of the fast moving high technology market. Bessie will also greatly strengthen our digital marketing and media knowledge on the board."
Shares in Electrocomponents were 1.5% higher at 562.20 pence on Friday.
