Electrical Geodesics Wins USD1.7 Million Head Model Contract Extension

25th Sep 2014 08:26

LONDON (Alliance News) - Electrical Geodesics Inc Thursday said it has secured a USD1.7 million extension to its existing Phase II SBIR grant from the US National Institute of Mental Health to back the further development of head models to improve brain imaging activity in infants and children.

Electric Geodesics will work with Washington University over the next three years on refining paediatric head models using new computational methodologies.

The company said the refined methods, in combination with non-invasive imaging technologies, including Electrical Geodesics' dense array electroencephalography, should provide tools to better understand the development of conditions like epilepsy, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and depression in children.

"We are delighted to see the support from NIMH for this critical project which we believe can help improve the understanding of a number of significant conditions that arise from developmental abnormalities in infants," said Electrical Geodesics Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Don Tucker.

Electrical Geodesics shares were untraded on Thursday at 140.5 pence.
