Electra Private Equity Hires Thomas Cook Executive For New Role Of CFO

22nd Jul 2016 06:39

LONDON (Alliance News) - Electra Private Equity PLC said on Friday said Gavin Manson has been appointed to the new role of chief financial officer, effective August 8.

Manson is currently the finance director for Thomas Cook Group's tour operations, hotels and resorts division, a role he has held since October 2014.

"On behalf of the whole board, I am very pleased to announce the appointment of Gavin Manson as chief financial officer. This is an important new role, and Gavin's extensive financial experience within public companies will enable him to make a significant contribution to our business both during and after the review period," said Neil Johnson, chairman of Electra Private Equity.

The appointment of Manson, and other recent board changes, follows the announcement in late May that Edward Bramson, the activist investor who had called for change at Electra, had been named unpaid interim chief executive. The group also had served notice to Electra Partners LLP, its in-house investment manager.
