EKF Diagostics Wins Two Hemo Control Analyser Deal In US And Turkey

3rd Sep 2015 07:56

LONDON (Alliance News) - EKF Diagnostics Holdings PLC on Thursday said it has secured two new contracts for its Hemo Control point-of-care hemoglobin analyser in Turkey and the US.

In Turkey, the company has won a deal from Red Crescent, the humanitarian group which runs the blood banking service in the country. Under the deal, EKF will supply 668 Hemo Control analysers and 160,000 boxes of cuvettes over a three-year period. The deal is worth slightly under EUR1 million, the company said.

Cuvettes are clear containers for liquid samples used for analysis.

The second deal the company has won is for the US state of Colorado's Women, Infants and Children programme. It will supply Hemo Control analysers and related cuvettes in a deal worth up to USD450,000 over five years, with additional incremental tenders expected to emerge for further analyser accessories.

"We are delighted to announce these two new business wins. The hemoglobin testing market is highly competitive and in winning both of these accounts we have demonstrated once again that we have a world-class product that can compete with the market leader. In addition, we anticipate that we will be able to announce further tender wins in the near future," said Chief Executive Julian Baines.

EKF shares were untraded Thursday morning, having last traded at 21.75 pence.
