LONDON (Alliance News) - EKF Diagnostic Holdings PLC said Tuesday that it plans to transfer production of its Quo-Test and Quo-Lab analysers and reagents cartridges from its facilities in Hersham, near Walton-on-Thames, to its manufacturing site in Barleben, Germany.
The biotechnology company has invested in an automated manufacturing line for the Quo-Lab reagent cartridges, which it expects to become operational shortly at the Barleben site. The products are blood analysers used to monitor diabetes patients.
EKF said that the transfer of the production will allow it to reduce the size of its manufacturing footprint and subsequently its manufacturing costs.
Shares in EKF were trading up 2.8% at 37.00 pence Tuesday morning.
