EKF Diagnostics Holdings Registers Diabetes Monitoring Technology In Mexico

18th Feb 2014 10:49

LONDON (Alliance News) - EKF Diagnostics Holdings PLC said Tuesday that it had registered its Quo-Lab HbA1c analyser, which is used to monitor diabetes, in Mexico.

The analyser was launched in July 2012, and EKF says it has sold 1,700 units worldwide. This registration means that EKF diagnostics will now be able to bid for government tenders, which it expects to be published in 2014.

"Mexico is an important market for EKF," said Chief Executive Officer Julian Baines in a statement. "We have seen significant growth in sales of our HemoPoint H2 haemoglobin analyser in Mexico, and we anticipate that the registration of Quo-Lab will allow us to enter new markets that will deliver incremental growth for the business."

Shares in the biotechnology company were trading up 5.4% at 37.94 pence Tuesday morning.
