(Alliance News) - Egdon Resources PLC on Monday announced it has submitted an appeal to the Lincolnshire County Council against the council's refusal to extend the existing planning permission to drill the North Kelsey-1 well site.
The Reading, England-based energy company submitted the appeal on behalf of the joint venture it holds with Union Jack Oil PLC, a Bath, England-based oil and gas company.
In March, the Lincolnshire County Council refused to extend the timeframe of an existing planning and drilling permit of the North Kelsey-1 well site in PEDL241. Egdon holds 50% economic interest in PEDL241 and Union Jack Oil hold the remaining 50%.
The appeal documentation has been submitted to the planning inspectorate, where it will be validated before an inspector is appointed to define a timeline, Egdon said.
Shares in Egdon were up 4.2% at 4.06 pence, and shares in Union Jack were up 0.9% at 27.75 pence in London on Monday morning.
