Egdon Resources Files Appeal Over Planning Denial At Wressle Field

5th Feb 2019 09:26

LONDON (Alliance News) - Egdon Resources PLC on Tuesday said it has filed its appeal against the refusal of planning consent for the development of the Wressle oil field by North Lincolnshire Council.

The company said the appeal will now be looked at by the Planning Inspectorate. A "bespoke timetable" will be drawn for the appeal process which will lead to a planning inquiry.

Egdon's Managing Director Mark Abbott said: "We look forward to a planning inspector considering at a public inquiry our appeal against the refusal in November 2018 of our revised development proposals for the Wressle oil field."

He continued: "We strongly believe the new proposals for the development of the Wressle oil field comprehensively addressed the reasons highlighted by the planning Inspector in his dismissal of our original appeals in January 2018."

Union Jack Oil PLC, a partner in the development of Wressle, noted the statement by Egdon, the operator of the licence with a 30% stake.

Union Jack holds a 28% interest in PEDLs 180/182, which contain Wressle.

Egdon shares were trading up 0.6% at 8.15 pence early Tuesday while Union Jack shares were trading down 3.1% at 0.14p.
