(Alliance News) - Edenville Energy PLC said Friday it is increasing production and sales at its its Rukwa coal project to meet its targeted output of 3,000 tonnes per month.
The London-based developer of Tanzania's Brownfield Rukwa coalfields more than doubled its production in October by mining 2,240 tonnes of run of mine and 1,024 tonnes of washed coal last month.
The company also noted that it received domestic orders from existing clients for 3,600 tonnes of coal for November.
Edenville already ramped up production at the start of October to meet the expected demand for Rukwa coal.
Going forward it will aim to maintain a daily production rate of 160 tonnes of washed coal per day and extend its operations to daily 12-hour shifts.
"I am pleased to report further progress last month, with a significant increase in production, processing and sales following upgrades to the site in the third quarter of 2021. I believe the company remains on track to meet its stated objective of selling at a rate of 3,000 tonnes per month of washed coal by the end of the year," Chief Executive Alistair Muir stated.
Shares were up 2.0% at 25.00 pence on Friday morning in London.
