(Alliance News) - Cheshire-based Eddie Stobart Logistics PLC said Friday its 49%-owned associate GreenWhiteStar Acquisitions Ltd has been appointed by Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC for providing transportation services from two distribution centres.
The three-year contract will have Eddie Stobart Ltd, a subsidiary of GreenWhiteStar manage all transport planning and deliveries of chilled and ambient groceries from the two locations to Morrisons' network of supermarkets.
"This further enhances our existing relationship with Morrisons and is testament to our current performance. It is excellent news for Eddie Stobart and strengthens our position in the marketplace as the leading transport provider for the retail and consumer sectors," said William Stobart, executive chair at GreenWhiteStar.
Shares in Eddie Stobart Logistics were up 6.3% at 8.08 pence on Friday in London.
