Ebiquity Profit Rises On Fewer Charges In "Extremely Active" Half

27th Jan 2016 09:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - Marketing services company Ebiquity PLC on Wednesday said its pretax profit rose significantly in the half to the end of October, mostly due to fewer one-off costs being booked, as revenue edged slightly higher.

The company said its pretax profit rose to GBP2.5 million from GBP577,000 a year earlier, as it booked one-off charges of GBP1.4 million compared to GBP3.0 million. Underlying profit for the year was GBP3.9 million, up from GBP3.6 million. Revenue ticked up to GBP35.6 million from GBP35.0 million.

The group said it saw significant momentum in its marketing performance optimisation revenue over the course of the year, along with a large number of client wins for its media value measurement systems due to an increase in the number of media agency reviews undertaken.

"We have enjoyed an extremely active six months across each of our practices," said Michael Greenlees, executive director of Ebiquity and its former chief executive. He stepped down this month and was replaced by Michael Karg.

Greenlees added that trading for the full year remains in line with the company's expectations.

Ebiquity shares were up 0.4% to 143.00 pence.
