LUTON (dpa-AFX) - UK-based low-cost airline easyJet Plc (ESYJY.PK, EZJ.L) reported that the number of passengers, which represents the number of earned seats flown, for the month of September 2013 grew 4.8 percent to 5.71 million from 5.45 million in the same month last year.
Load factor, which represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available for passengers, for the month rose 1.2 percentage points to 89.7 percent from 88.5 percent last year.
Separately, easyJet, its pre-close statement, said that it expects revenue per seat at constant currency for the three months to 30 September 2013 to grow by around 6% driven by strong demand in July and August.
Despite the political unrest in Egypt and the 25 million pounds adverse impact in the second half of the year from the movement of Easter which fell on 31 March 2013, a week earlier than in 2012, revenue per seat at constant currency for the six months to 30 September 2013 is expected to grow by around 6%.
The airline now expects a pre-tax profit for the twelve months ended 30 September 2013 to be between 470 million pounds and 480 million pounds compared with the previous guidance of 450 million pounds to 480 million pounds.
