LONDON (Alliance News) - Budget carrier easyJet PLC on Tuesday said it will cancel all flights to Egyptian resort Sharm el-Sheikh until January, following the crash of a Russian passenger plane which resulted in the death of 224 people earlier this month.
easyJet earlier this month had been focused on ensuring all its customers still in Sharm el-Sheikh were flown back to the UK, but now said it will cancel all flights to and from the airport until January 6, 2016.
Meanwhile, British Airways, part of International Consolidated Airlines Group SA, has cancelled all flights to and from the airport until December 17.
Shares in easyJet were down 3.4% to 1,590.00 pence Tuesday, one of the worst performers in the FTSE 100, while IAG shares were down 3.3% to 549.35p.
