LONDON (Alliance News) - Payments company Earthport PLC on Tuesday said it has opened a new office in Singapore to back its push into Asia.
The Asia business is headed by Sajeev Viswanathan and Rohit Bammi, both former Citibank bankers.
"The opening of our Singapore office is an important milestone in the continuing expansion of Earthport's global footprint and underlines our commitment to the Asia-Pacific market," said Earthport Chief Executive Hank Uberoi.
The push by Earthport even warranted a mention from British Prime Minister David Cameron.
"British companies like Earthport are flying the flag and unlocking the economic potential of the fast growing economies of South East Asia. I'm delighted that they have joined me on my first trade mission of this government, and I hope that we can work together to create jobs and growth for the UK," Cameron said, according to Earthport.
Earthport shares were down 2.5% to 39.50 pence on Tuesday.
