Earthport Hires Microsoft, Misys And Logica Executive As New CEO

24th May 2018 15:33

LONDON (Alliance News) - Cross-border payments provider Earthport PLC said on Thursday it has appointed Amanda Mesler as chief executive officer with effect on July 1.

She will replace Executive Chairman Hank Uberoi, who had taken on that role in January. Prior to that, Uberoi had been CEO for eight years since 2010. Meanwhile, Phil Hickman will resume his previous role as non-executive chairman, having been interim CEO since January.

Mesler has been a general manager at Microsoft Corp for three year since 2015. She recently managed the Enterprise business in Central and Eastern Europe. Before that she was chief operating officer for financial services company Misys for nine months from 2013 to 2014.

Prior to that Mesler spent five years at business consultancy Logica PLC, from 2007 to 2012, leaving as chief executive officer for Global Business Consulting.

Mesler is currently non-executive director at National Grid PLC, which she has held since April.

"We are delighted to have such a talented and experienced global technology leader as Amanda join us to guide Earthport in the next stage of its growth. Everyone on the management team and board is excited to welcome her as CEO. I would also like to extend my thanks to Phil for running the company during this interim period and welcome him back into the chairman role. Phil and I very much look forward to supporting Amanda in her leadership of the firm," Uberoi said.

Shares in Earthport were down 0.5% at 9.22 pence on Thursday.
