LONDON (Alliance News) - International payment processing firm Earthport PLC said Monday it appointed Non-Executive Director Sunil Sabharwal as its interim chairman as its current chair retires with immediate effect and its former boss also leaves the board.
Sabharwal - appointed a non-executive in September - will replace current Chairman Phil Hickman who retired with immediate effect on Monday. Hickman has been chairman at Earthport since 2010.
Earthport also announced former Chief Executive Officer Hank Uberoi will retire from the board as non-executive director. Uberoi resigned as boss of the firm in December 2017, ultimately being replaced by Amanda Mesler in July. During the interim period, Hickman served as temporary CEO of the firm.
"For the last several years we have been developing Earthport's capabilities and positioning the company to achieve its significant potential," Uberoi said. "With Amanda in place as our new CEO, it is a good time for me to hand over to our new leadership team to take the company on the next stage of its journey. I wish the entire Earthport team the very best."
Sabharwal explained: "On behalf of the board, I would like to thank both Hank and Phil for their extensive contributions to Earthport over a number of years. Whilst Earthport has navigated a difficult path this last year, the opportunities ahead of it are bright, and I look forward to working with Amanda and my board colleagues, as Earthport enters its next stage of development."
Shares in Earthport were 2.3% lower at 8.05 pence on Monday.
