(Alliance News) - DX Group PLC on Monday said it brought more Tuffnells Parcels Express Ltd depots back into operation, boosting the company's irregular dimension and weight delivery services.
DX, a Slough, England-based parcel delivery company, that took over the Tuffnells Parcels from the administrator in June.
DX said it reopened a further 10 of the 15 former Tuffnells Parcels depots, bringing the total number of depots that have been brought back into operation to date to 12.
The 10 depots will all serve DX's freight division, in particular its irregular dimension and weight delivery services.
Chief Executive Officer Paul Ibbetson said: "These openings substantially increase our freight capability across the country, from the south of England, through the Midlands, Yorkshire, and into Scotland. They will provide the additional capacity we need to handle the volume growth that we are experiencing. They will also support our drive for further efficiencies, environmental and customer service benefits. Developing the depot network is a key component in delivering our continued growth plans, and we expect to be able to report on further openings over the coming months."
DX shares were 0.5% lower at 43.30 pence each on Monday afternoon in London.
