(Alliance News) - DX Group PLC on Monday said it has opened a "major new regional hub" in Haydock, Merseyside.
DX is a Slough, England-based provider of delivery solutions, including parcel freight, secure courier and logistics services.
The new regional hub will serve the DX's Freight division, and in particular its irregular dimension & weight delivery services.
It is the second of 15 former Tuffnells depots to be brought back into operation following its takeover by DX. The takeover was announced at the end of July
DX said the new site is located on a 3.3 acre site in the Yew Tree trading estate, north-east of Haydock. It has a purpose-built 19,644 square foot cross dock warehouse and capacity for 52 trailers and there is also a two-storey office building to the front of the site.
Chief Executive Paul Ibbetson said: "We continue to invest significantly in the business and are pleased to add the new regional hub in Haydock to our Freight division. This opening substantially increases our freight capability in the north west of England, giving us the additional capacity we need to handle the growth that we are seeing. It also supports our drive for further efficiencies and environmental and service benefits."
Shares in DX were up 1.7% to 37.11 pence each in London on Monday afternoon.
