LONDON (Alliance News) - Dunelm Group PLC said Thursday that it has appointed Andy Harrison, chief executive of Whitbread PLC, as a non-executive director, with effect from September 1, 2014.
Harrison will be a member of the Audit and Risk, Remuneration and Nominations Committees, said the company.
Dunelm Chairman Geoff Cooper said of Harrison's appointment, "His track record of achievement in consumer-facing businesses will be a huge asset to us. In particular his perspective and understanding of consumer behaviour and the challenges of leading high quality, world class organisations will add considerably to development of strategy."
Dunelm last week said it expects to report a higher pretax profit and revenue for the financial year just ended, boosted by particularly strong sales growth in the final quarter of the year, as the retailer continues to benefit from an improving UK economy.
Dunelm shares were trading marginally lower Thursday morning, down 0.06% at 816.52.
