Dunelm Deputy Chairman Takes 3% Stake In Marks & Spencer

31st Oct 2013 15:45

LONDON (Alliance News) - William Adderley, the son of the founder of home furnishings retailer Dunelm, has taken a stake of just over 3% in Marks & Spencer PLC, regulatory filings showed Thursday.

Adderley stepped down as chief executive of Dunelm in 2010, but remains deputy Chairman and its largest shareholder with a 30.5% stake. At the time, he said he wanted to concentrate on the retailing side of the business, rather than dealing with investors and staffing matters.

The filing with the London Stock Exchange shows he now holds 48.5 million shares in Marks & Spencer, giving him a 3.005% stake.

Marks & Spencer shares were up 0.3% at 494.70 pence Thursday afternoon.
