DS Smith Says Trading In Line And Reaffirms Medium-Term Targets

8th Sep 2015 06:47

LONDON (Alliance News) - Recycling packaging company DS Smith PLC on Tuesday said it has made good progress since the start of its current financial year in May and said its trading has been in line with its expectations.

The FTSE 250 company said it has seen robust volume growth so far in the financial year and said its return on sales and on capital employed are both improved year-on-year.

The company said its outlook remains positive, despite some challenging conditions in key markets, and said its medium-term financial targets and its outlook for the rest of the financial year look strong.

"We are pleased with our start to the year as we continue to grow organically and actively manage our business portfolio. Packaging has ever increasing relevance in a dynamic retail and consumer environment and our progress with customers is evidenced by continued volume growth, together with increased margins and returns, from our compelling offering and enhanced geographic footprint," said Chief Executive Miles Roberts.
