DS Smith Says Its Full-Year Performance Met Its Expectations

30th Apr 2014 12:15

LONDON (Alliance News) - Packaging company DS Smith PLC Wednesday said its performance in the year to end-April had been in line with its expectations, driven by growth across its businesses and the synergies it has achieved through the acquisition of SCA Packaging.

In a short trading update, the company said like-for-like corrugated box volume growth had remained ahead of its medium-term financial target of GDP plus 1%, with Germany and Central and Eastern Europe continuing to be particularly strong.

Its return on sales and return on average capital employed also continued to improve thanks to the acquisition of SCA Packaging, it said.

"Our outlook remains positive and the board expects continued performance in line with the company's medium term financial targets," it said.

The company will put out its results for the year to April 30 on June 26.
