DS Smith Reaffirms Expectations As Second Half Remains In Line

9th Mar 2016 07:19

LONDON (Alliance News) - DS Smith PLC on Wednesday said trading has remained in line with its expectations in the second half and backed its medium-term targets.

The FTSE 250-listed company, which makes consumer packaging and recycled packaging products, said volume growth has been strong in four months since the start of November, particularly in western and south eastern Europe.

Its return on sales and return on average capital employed also improved year-on-year, DS Smith said, leading it to back its medium-term targets and its expectations for the full year to the end of April.

"We are pleased with progress in the year to date as we continue to grow organically and integrate the businesses acquired over the past year, with a positive customer reaction. We aim to continue to develop our high quality packaging offering while extending our geographic reach," said Chief Executive Miles Roberts.
