LONDON (Alliance News) - Packaging firm DS Smith PLC on Tuesday announced the appointment of Celia Baxter as a non-executive director.
Baxter currently has non-executive board roles at refractory products firm RHI Magnesita NV and engineer Senior PLC. She has had an executive career at Ford Motor Co and accountant KPMG, as well as human resources roles at recruiter Hays PLC and foods company Tate & Lyle PLC.
Her most recent role was as HR director at FTSE 100 distributor Bunzl PLC.
Her appointment comes as Kathleen O'Donovan announced her retirement from the board, effective from the end of DS Smith's annual general meeting on September 3. Baxter will join on October 9.
DS Smith Chair Gareth Davis said: "On behalf of the board and the company, I would like to thank Kathleen for her hard work and commitment to the board and the company during her nearly seven-year tenure, a period of tremendous growth and change for the company. The board would like to wish Kathleen continued success in the future."

DS Smith shares were down 1.5% on Tuesday morning at 355.40 pence each.
