(Alliance News) - Packaging business DS Smith PLC on Wednesday said that former Ashtead Group PLC chief executive officer Geoff Drabble will succeed outgoing Gareth Davis as chair.
The London-based company said it has appointed Drabble as chair designate and a non-executive director with effect from September 1. His election will be put to the September annual general meeting for shareholder approval.
Drabble, who will succeed retiring Davis as chair on January 3, 2021, served for 12 years as chief executive of equipment rental company Ashtead before stepping down in May 2019. He is also non-executive chair of plumbing and heating products distributor Ferguson PLC and a non-executive director of kitchen retailer Howden Joinery Group PLC.
DS Smith shares were 1.2% higher at 334.73 pence each in London on Wednesday afternoon.
