Drax Says Trading Conditions Challenging, But Expectations Unchanged

24th Nov 2015 08:22

LONDON (Alliance News) - Power station operator Drax Group PLC on Tuesday said trading in its market has remained challenging, though its expectations for 2015 remain unchanged.

The FTSE 250-listed company said trading conditions have been tough in the second half of 2015, with further weakness in power prices.

The company has, however, benefited from a robust operational performance and has strengthened its 2015 and 2016 hedges for power sales ahead of the current market, leaving it confident it will meet its expectations for the full year.

Drax said its biomass operations at the Drax power plant in Yorkshire remain in line with its expectations.

It will publish its results for the year to the end of December on February 23, 2016.

Shares in Drax were up 0.2% to 233.6 pence on Tuesday morning.
