Drax Group Loses Finance Director Tony Quinlan To Laird

29th Apr 2015 09:24

LONDON (Alliance News) - Power plant firm Drax Group PLC Wednesday said Finance Director Tony Quinlan will leave the company at the end of June to take a position at fellow FTSE 250 listed Laird PLC.

Both companies released separate statements on Wednesday, with electronics firm Laird confirming Quinlan will join as chief financial officer from July 1, the day immediately after he leaves Drax.

Drax has now started a search for a new finance director but has appointed Michael Scott as the interim finance director, who will work with Quinlan until he leaves the company. Scott joined the company in May 2005, and is currently head of corporate finance.

Laird said that current its CFO, Jonathan Silver, will leave the company on August 8 and will work with Quinlan when he joins the company to ensure a smooth transition. Silver announced he would leave Laird back in September 2014.

"I am delighted to be joining Laird, which has a strong position in a very dynamic and exciting market. David is building a great team, and I look forward to joining them and helping deliver the significant potential of the group," said Quinlan, referring to Laird Chief Executive Officer David Lockwood.

Drax shares were down 1.7% to 402.30 pence per share on Wednesday morning, whilst Laird shares were down 0.3% to 359.20 pence.
