18th Jul 2016 08:44

LONDON (Alliance News) - Recently-listed technology sector investor Draper Espirit PLC said on Monday it has invested GBP3.1 million in Swedish company Lifesum.

Lifesum is a Stockholm-based digital health company launched in 2013. It has created a healthy lifestyle app for smartphones.

The investment is the venture capital company's first investment since being listed on AIM last month.

Vishal Gulati, venture partner at Draper Esprit, will join the Lifesum board.

"As we outlined during our IPO, we are looking to invest in high quality management teams with innovative digital technology from across all of Europe. Scandanavia has produced many great digital success stories such as Spotify and the team at Lifesum has created a very powerful platform," said Draper Espirit Chief executive Simon Cook.

Shares in Draper Espirit were up 0.8% Monday morning at 305.00 pence.
