(Alliance News) - Downing Strategic Micro-Cap Investment Trust PLC said Friday Non-Executive Director Andy Griffiths will resign in October from the investment firm to join the UK Royal Fleet Auxiliary supporting the Royal Navy.
"Losing Andy is a loss to us because he is an exceptional director," Downing Strategic Chair Hugh Aldous said. "Our loss, however, is going to be the Navy's considerable gain."
"He will start at the Royal Naval College Dartmouth later in October and it is a credit to the Navy, the MoD and forward thinking in defence to see that they are prepared to take and commission new, talented, well-informed officers at what might be called 'a mature age'," Aldous added. "The Royal Fleet Auxiliary is going to get a very intelligent, experienced and able officer."
Shares in Downing Strategic were down 2.2% at 65.56 pence in London on Friday.
